After Christmas

The Sunday after Christmas, we visited my Grandma Jo-Jo. Marina managed to cut her hand at her house. Here she's showing off her bandaged hand, with 5 stitches underneath! She was a very brave girl and is fine now. The scar looks really good and even our doctor comment on what a great job the person did with her stitches. So hopefully it'll be gone some day.

Jett models one of his new outfits from Grandma JJ that he wore to school. He's so handsome!

Eventhough this giant Elmo is just that... Marina still wants to sleep with it in her crib. I just let her lay down with him, then he has to go. Here she is with some of her favorite Elmos.
We had a great Christmas!

Brent & Erin's Wedding

Now that Christmas was over, it was then straight into wedding mode. That Friday night we had the Rehearsal Dinner. The wedding was Saturday at 2 PM. Everything was lovely. Here are some great photos from such a fun time.

Marina was dying to see Uncle Brent at the reception. She finally got to see him!

Nannie and Papa were there too!

Here is the lovely bride, Erin, and Uncle Brent at the reception.

Another highlight was seeing Cousin Cyan. The three of them were having lots of fun running off all that energy! Too bad Marina isn't looking here. This is where Brent and Erin were just a few moments before they left for their honeymoon.

Jett's ringing his bell at the reception. What great fun!

Christmas Part 3

I realize that I made this now backwards. I should have started with part 3 so when it shows up, it'd be in the right alignment. Oh well...too late now! Anyway, Part 3 was the Friday after Christmas. We went to Wichita to see the Johnsons. Marina is here asleep on the way.

Fun gifts for Jett were these cool dart blasters. I think it came with 50 darts each. Jett had a blast blasting his Uncle Brandon.

Whew! What a great Christmas! We got so many great things from everyone. I know the economy has taken a dive, but our family still took care of us! We are very blessed and very thankful for such wonderful gifts from you all.

Christmas Part 2

Here's the view of Christmas at our house. We had a white Christmas!

On Christmas day we had a great time opning gifts. The kids were really into it. Santa brought the family the Wii and Jett couldn't believe it! That's turned out to be a great gift for us all.

Mark got some hilarious ho-ho boxers that he will get to wear next year for Christmas!

Christmas Part 1

We celebrated with Nannie, Papa, Uncle Seth, Aunt Adrianne and Cousin Evelyn the weekend before Christmas. It was so much fun to have the kids together for the big opening!

The big present from Nannie & Papa was a giant Elmo for Marina. When Marina first saw it, there might have been a bit of fear in her, as shown by her expression. But now she loves it. In fact, I think all of us have rolled around with this giant Elmo. He's a popular pillow too. The other big gift of the night was Spiderman Chairs from Pottery Barn Kids for Eveyln and Marina (no more fighting over Jett's Superman chair!). And the battle Air Hog helicopters. What a great start to Christmas!

Updating finally

I can't believe... well, I CAN believe... that I haven't updated this in so long! Well I better get started. Pretend that it is not yet Christmastime...

We made a Gingerbread house. Amazingly, candy did make it on the house! There was plenty eaten though.
And check out the smiles on Jett and Marina. I think they look so different and then I take a photo like this and say -- they could be twins!

Our Anniversary

In October, we celebrated our 14th anniversary! We all went out for dinner and had a great time. This photo is one of my favorites. The kids were really getting into the anniversary. They were celebrating with us and told us how much they love us and they are glad we're their parents. Well, we are too!

Jett's showing off one of his birthday presents! His KU sweatsuit from Nannie & Papa!

Hawaiian Party

The Johnsons hosted a Hawaiian party for their friends that came in September from England. Some highlights...

Sorry... I guess I don't know how to flip these photos once they are in here!

Wichita Visit

I had so much fun seeing my friends from Wichita earlier in September. It was raining cats hard but it was nice to see familiar faces I miss so much. Thanks for coming out! Here's some great photos from that night. We were happy to have Susan Cherches visiting us from Phoenix.

Tailgating Highlights

Tailgating season is almost over! We only have one home game left. Here are some highlights from tailgates of this season.

KU lost to Nebraska

What a bummer! We paid $20 for pay-per-view too! Here's a funny one of Marina. She was sweating as usual while she slept so I was able to make her into a nice mohawk. I guess I'll call this the Jayhawk.

Additional Photos

Jett and Marina trying out their rubber lips they got from Grandma JJ. Hilarious!

Election Day 2008. We all dressed patriotic. And we went and cashed in a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich with my "I Voted" sticker! We also got a free patriotic donut earlier that morning! Is this a great country or what?

Halloween

Jett and Mark do the first pumpkin carving ever! I hate carving pumpkins but Mark was a good sport because Jett really wanted to. It turned out pretty good. Jett did more scooping of the pumpkin than cutting.

Jett was Annikin Skywalker. I have no idea how to spell Annikin. But that's what he wanted to be. It's from Star Wars Clone Wars. The mask was pretty coool. He loved wearing it! This was at Jett's school on Halloween.

We hosted the Saddlebrooke Neighborhood Halloween Party. It was loads of fun! Here are some good photos from that day! Thank goodness mom was in town to help me. We had lots of fun setting up the haunted garage.

Franky is ready to scare in the "Haunted Garage."

Here is a game... pumpkin agility test. I had a 4-foot inflatable pumpkin that they weaved in and out of the cones. This was great until about 20 kids decided to jump on the pumpkin. I thought it'd pop for sure. I should have gotten a photo of that but didn't. The good news is that the pumpkin survived for another Halloween!

Marina wore her costume at the Lake Quivira Halloween Party. Unfortunately, she didn't wear it on Halloween.

This photo was taken from "Trunk-Or-Treat" at Jett's school. It was on the 17th and Jett wore his Spiderman costume. Our neighbors are here with him.

Jett's Birthday

We had lots of fun for Jett's birthday. He had a 10-day celebration! First, the mom and dad came up and we tailgated at Seth's house for the Texas Tech game. Unfortunately, KU got beat! Then, Jett's birthday party at school, then that night with friends. And then the Johnsons came up. So he got lots of great stuff. Here are some highlights from his birthday!

Superhero's Birthday! The theme was Batman.

I thought I could make the Batman cake, no problem. Whew! That was work! There are 3 cakes in there!! And the original frosting turned out green. So we have a layer of army green frosting (I thought I could turn chocolate frosting black by adding blue food coloring). It looked so bad I went to Hobby Lobby for black food coloring. Much better but there was a TON of frosting on this puppy! The kids were buzzing big-time on the sugar!
Cyan came with Aunt Christie and Grandma JJ and Grandpa Stevie. They had so much fun together! Here, she's helping Jett open his new footbal jersey.
This photo was taken awhile ago at Grandma Jo-Jo's. I think it turned out great so included it.
